Laboratories

What the classroom teaches, the laboratory demonstrates & proves. That is why, at The ST. MARY’S CO-ED SCHOOL, we have laboratories in both the sciences & humanities. Apart from fully-equipped physics, chemistry & biology laboratories for the senior school, we also have a junior science laboratory for primary school students. But joyful education is more than just sciences, hence specialized laboratories for mathematics, social studies, languages & environmental studies are also taking shape.

BIOLOGY LAB

The study of Biology provides students with opportunities to develop an understanding of our living world. Knowledge is based on experimental results and accurate observations, which are gained by variety of experiences. Thus, role of laboratory and filed learning becomes a key component in understanding biology.

Our laboratory is very spacious which can accommodate 30 students at a time.   Our lab is well equipped with highly advanced microscopes, for better results. Varieties of permanent slides are easily accessible to children.  Moreover beautifully painted and well labeled diagrammatic representations of various specimens are present along with virtual images of specimen as per CBSE norms so that students can visualize and understand a specimen easily.

With all these facilities, our students have complete support by the teachers so that students are guided in right way and can excel in the field of their interest. 

CHEMISTRY LAB

ST. MARY’S CO-ED SCHOOL has a spacious and very well ventilated Chemistry Lab. It can accommodate 32 students at a time for performing the practicals.  The lab has two rooms;  One is for performing the experiments and the other one is the weighing room, which is well equipped with analytical balances and electronic balances required for performing experiments and project work.  The work space is in the form of slabs with their individual connection of burner, sinks with taps, individual chemical and reagent racks. List of experiments along with working instructions/ precautions are well placed in the lab.

Lab has fire extinguisher and a good medical aid in case of injuries and accidents. A small library of Chemistry Book is also maintained in the lab.

PHYSICS LAB

To study and understand the dynamic of Physics subject, practical knowledge of the different phenomena is as important as the theoretical knowledge. Keeping this in mind, we maintain one of the most well equipped Physics Lab which is a hub of modern scientific facilities, combined with the expertise and knowledge of our staff.

Following the CBSE Curriculum, our lab provides the perfect environment to conduct all of experiments in all the domains. It has a provision of large no of experimental setups on different varieties of fields of Physics.

 Computer Lab

In today’s era no one can remain untouched by the world of Computers. So we, at Greenway, have provided the best of Infra-structure and facilities in terms of imparting the best education of computers to our students.

It is well equipped modern Lab with latest innovation and technology being used in imparting computer education to the students.  The lab boasts of network running on windows server 8.0 on the dedicated server that is attached/networked to 32 individual workstations for students. All computers are upgraded with latest versions of Software.    This lab is fun filled, knowledgeable place for senior students of XI and XII Classes.

JUNIOR COMPUTER LAB

This lab is used by students’ up to VIII Standard.  It well illuminated and colourful furniture keeping in mind the young kids. There are  computers for young kids to have hands on practice on them.

Computer science is taught as an additional subject right from Class I to Class X. The students of these classes are taught various software modules on different networks and different Operating systems. Computer science is taught as an optional subject for classes XI & XII. The students of these classes are taught C++, SQL, Boolean Algebra and Networking Basics.

Language Labs: 

Promoting many national and international languages to our students the school has a unique language lab which is used for training students with correct pronunciations of tougher words. The languages taught through this lab are English, French, Hindi.

Social Science Lab: 

Man is a social animal. In order to maintain relations between the people and communities, their social customs, welfares, reforms the Social Science laboratory methodology is widely used in experimentation. A group of subjects linked with Social Sciences are taught with models, charts and various modern techniques.

Mathematics Laboratory

Students learn and explore mathematical concepts through a variety of activities using, different materials. These activities help the students to explore, to learn and to develop interest in mathematics. It also enables the teacher to demonstrate, explain and reinforce mathematical ideas by using objects, models, charts, graphs etc. Our Mathematics Laboratory is equipped with Abacus, A model of Sextant, Time Set, Graph Rolls, Geometry Box,Three-dimensional Geometric Figures

There are many models made by the students which include:

• Geoboards, Tangram, Angle Sum Property of a Triangle, Pythagoras Theorem
• Angle Sum Property of a Quadrilateral, Algebraic Identities
• Patterns of Curves, Some Properties of Circle

Mathematics Laboratory can be used as an effective tool to create fascination and love for Mathematics among the students.
